About Me

My Journey to Becoming a Life Coach
I’m Andrea, and I’m so happy that you’ve found your way here. Before we get started, I want to tell you a bit about myself, and how I found my purpose.
My Life
I grew up mostly in a middle class suburb. One would say, the perfect neighbourhood to raise your children in. Although things looked rosy on the outside, I experienced a lot of trauma as a child. My coping mechanism was to always be the “good kid”, the one who stayed quiet and knew her place. Like many, I carried my emotional scars for many years—but I also carried a gift my mother passed onto me, my Christian faith.
As I grew into adulthood, I struggled with not knowing my worth and not knowing how to be assertive, which led to a string of toxic relationships. Weight fluctuations were also an issue for me. And due to my naivety when it came to how credit works, I’ve had money problems that led to a bankruptcy. I’ve also had many different careers in many different industries while trying to find myself.
All of this is to say: I understand how tough life can be. I’ve gone through it. Of course, we’re all fighting our own battles that no one can truly understand—however, a person has to go through the fires of their own lives and live a life full of experiences in order to relate to others.
Although I’ve had dark times, I’ve pulled through every time—always stronger on the other side. That’s how I know that you can do it too.
Darkness Before the Dawn
Our life’s story always seems darkest right before dawn. At the low points in my life, I decided to make some real and lasting changes. Now, these changes didn’t happen all at once, nor did they happen overnight, but lasting changes come from a daily commitment to get back up no matter how many times you fall.
Through prayer, patience, self-love, and self-reflection—I finally found true love. I’m now happily married to a wonderful man who was well worth the wait!
Through busting my butt with diet and lifestyle changes—I managed to lose the weight and keep it off.
Through self- discipline—I managed to become debt free with a great credit score.
Finding My Purpose
I’ve had many jobs, spanning over 2 decades. I’ve worked in customer service, reception, sales, office administration, and most recently construction. I chose most of these jobs because they were what I believed “society” would have me choose. But they weren’t me. It wasn’t until I branched out and worked in the construction industry (something that left many of my friends and family scratching their heads) that I began to understand. As different as construction was from any other job that I had done, there was always one common thread—I absolutely loved the element of helping people, from customers to coworkers. That’s what lit my fire!
After countless injuries during my 6 and a half year stint in construction—I decided to stop getting in my own way. I got certified as a professional life coach. This was the best decision I ever made.
All of us have the power to take control of our lives. These “boxes” that we put ourselves in set unnecessary roadblocks on the road to our dreams. It’s time to destroy those roadblocks. It’s time to start living the life you’ve always wanted. You are who you believe yourself to be.
As a life coach, I help people discover their passions, reach their goals, break out of their comfort zones, and squeeze every last drop of goodness out of this thing we call life!
Whether you’re taking the next step on your journey or rewriting your story—together, we can make it happen!
